I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I remember getting into fitness in middle school and absolutely loving it because it truly symbolizes how hard work pays off. I’ve been in the gym ever since and became very committed to developing my body physically for sports, specifically football. I ended up playing 1 year of football at Hope college, but was just burnt out from the game of football. I transferred to Iowa State University where I studied criminal justice. I added an exercise science major though because I still had a fascination with fitness. I was a group fitness instructor and personal trainer for the university. I always received so much satisfaction helping people reach their fitness goals. I admire people that take time out of their day to do something that isn’t easy! After receiving a BA in liberal arts I decided I wanted to be a PE teacher so I went to Northern Illinois University where I received a teaching license. While going to school I was a personal trainer specializing in sports performance for young adults. I moved to Las Vegas in 2017 to pursue a teaching career where I now work at Rancho High School as PE, health and CrossFit coach. I did not know anyone when I moved out here so my buddy suggested trying CrossFit because of the community. I gave it a go and now cannot workout at LVAC! Iron Talon CrossFit has been an incredible aspect in my life physically, emotionally, relationally, and professionally! Working out has always been a stronghold in my life. It’s always there no matter what else is going on in life. It literally changes lives physically and mentally!
